Patricia Dee
I always thought that was the most beautiful name I’d ever heard. Glamorous, a little glitzy, like the name of a Hollywood Movie star.
Aunt Trishy
Sounds more like the name of The Original FUN Aunt.
If you put those two people together, you now know exactly how I saw my Aunt growing up.
She was gorgeous. Almost breathtakingly beautiful. When she walked in, people noticed. Her lipstick matched her fingernails, always. Her accessories were perfectly styled. And I’ve never seen anyone wear animal print the way she did. Leopard print paled in comparison to her personality. It was almost as if the leopard print was lucky to be worn by her!
She fiercely loved her siblings. She bragged about her “baby brother”, my dad, even though he is in his sixties.
She absolutely doted on my brother and I. When my kids came along, she doted on them too.
She loved to shop. In fact, she aided and abetted my purse obsession from a very young age.
She loved to dance. She bought me my first pair of tap shoes when I was 4. She could tap dance, sitting in her chair, better than most dancers I’ve watched on a stage!
It warms my heart to know just days before she passed, she got to see my daughter’s dance routines for this year. She undoubtedly made my daughter feel like she was the best dancer she’d ever seen!
She was a conversationalist and never backed down from a debate. She was not going to entertain the idea of a “man’s world” for one second when she had an opinion on something.
She and I were incapable of keeping a phone call under 30 minutes and she would always end it by saying “Well Mogy, we aren’t gonna solve all the worlds problems today, but we sure tried!”
She was the most stubborn person I’ve ever met. Loving someone who is stubborn can be heart wrenching at times. But, now that it’s all over, I am incredibly proud that, if nothing else, she did it her way! Every second of ever day, up to the very end, she lived this life Patricia Dee’s way!
I know she was greeted at Heaven’s gate by her Mom, whom she missed dearly, and her beloved Aunt Donna. I’m not sure what all Heaven has, but if there is an Elder Beerman’s available, then those three are there right now! Giggling, gossiping, and accessorizing!!!
Her name is in the lights of Heaven now and while we will miss her dearly, she is ✨SHINING✨ as she was always meant to.
Safe Travels,
